Laying patterns
The pattern changes the look of a room, the number of cuts and the amount you need to buy. Every pattern here can be planned in the planner.
- Straight with random stagger
The default for planks. Each row starts with the last offcut, so waste stays around 5%.
- Brick pattern (½ offset)
Each row shifts by half a plank. Regular and tidy; avoid with tiles longer than 45 cm.
- Third offset (⅓)
Rows shift by a third. Recommended for long tiles and wood-look planks to limit lippage.
- Diagonal
Rows at 45° to the walls. Widens small rooms; every edge piece is an angled cut.
- Herringbone (fishbone)
Short planks at right angles in a zigzag. Needs left and right (A and B) planks.
- Chevron
Planks with angled ends meet in a sharp V. Cleaner lines than herringbone.
